Afterimage

In Afterimage, reflections of trees and sky stretch across the water, fractured into shifting bands of colour and light. Space feels unstable — elongated, fluid, and continuously transforming. What first appears as landscape gradually slips into something more psychological, as if the visible world has begun dissolving into memory, sensation, and residual perception.

The painting is constructed through saturated colour contrasts, directional brushwork, and tactile impasto. Electric blues, luminous turquoise, burning golds, and scattered violets collide across the surface, creating a charged visual field. Thick paint catches light unevenly, intensifying the sense of vibration and movement. Reflections are no longer mirrored forms but broken fragments of energy, pulled, stretched, and scattered through the rhythm of the brush.

More than a depiction of reflected trees, Afterimage explores the lingering force of perception itself.
