Speeding was inspired by a bright afternoon in Stanley Park, Vancouver. Across a field of gold, a white dog dashed through the light—so fast it became almost pure motion, pure life.
I painted with tilted strokes and layered hues of blue, violet, and yellow to translate motion into rhythm, and rhythm into form. The figure blurs, yet the energy grows stronger.
This moment is more than speed—it’s freedom embodied. The dog runs not toward or away, but simply for the joy of running. In that fleeting second, the world glows with the heartbeat of light.
